TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Tourist destination Yogyakarta Smart Park (Taman Pintar) now has a new attraction called the Eiffel Tower Zone which can become an option for year-end holidays.

“It’s a partnership between Yogyakarta City and Institut Francais Indonesia (IFI), the French Embassy and a community that manages Eiffel Tower Société d'Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE),” Taman Pintar Yogyakarta director Afi Rosdiana says on Monday.

The zone allows visitors to get visual information on Eiffel Tower and its original parts. For example, the premise has a used bolt of the tower.

“The bolt was donated for the attraction by the French government as part of its support,” Afi said. There is also a copy of a detailed engineering design (DED) document of the tower architected by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel.

What is more interesting is that the attraction has a panel display showing visual information taken from 360-degree cameras installed on the Eiffel, giving an opportunity to visitors to enjoy the beauty of Paris, the Seine River and the monumental Arc de Triomphe.

However, the screenshots on the 360-degree cameras are not real-time visualizations but the latest pictures sent by French authorities to Taman Pintar Yogyakarta. Afi said that Taman Pintar management needed at least three years to get the French government support for the Eiffel Tower Zone.
