5 Habits That will Make Your Diet Fail

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - When you are determined to lose weight, the first thing to do is usually keep unhealthy food away. But it will not be enough if you still keep the habits that can fail your diets.
The President of Institute for Sustainable Weight Loss, Susan Peirce Thompson, says that the common mistake made in weight loss regime is starting with the wrong steps. Listed below are your daily habits affecting your diet program, as reported by Womenshealthmagazine:
1. Sleep deprivation
We all know that sleep deprivation can resulted in weight gain as cortisol level increased. On the contrary, too much sleep is not good either. A study in PLOS One journal shows that more than 10 hours sleep at night can increase the risk of weight gain compared to 7 to 9 hours of sleep.
2. The lack of sunlight exposure
A study in PLOS One journal finds that by closing your curtain after waking up, you may miss out on the benefit of weight loss from sunlight exposure. Researcher says that those people exposed by sunlight in the morning will have more ideal body weight than those who don’t.
The research shows that 20-30 minutes sunlight exposure in the morning can affect your body shape. Sunlight can help your body adjust its biological clock, increase metabolism and burn calories.
3. Breakfast
A research at University of Tel Aviv shows that those having low-calorie diet consume a balanced breakfast containing 600 calories that comprise of fat free protein sources, carbohydrate and a bit of sweet foods. A balanced breakfast can reduce hunger compared to those eating low-calorie foods or big breakfast.
