TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tottenham Hotspur caught everyone by surprise after succeeding to defeat defending champion Real Madrid in a final score of 3-1 during the Group H of the Champions League at Wembley Stadium.
Dele Alli scored two goals that were followed by Christian Eriksen who scored one goal. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was the only player who succeeded to score a goal for Real Madrid.
Tottenham entered the match with tremendous confidence after both teams were still attempting to recover from last week’s defeat against Manchester United and Girona.
Christian Eriksen provided an awesome finish from Kane's pass for the third goal and even though Cristiano Ronaldo pulled one back for Real with 10 minutes left, it was too little, too late.
The only downside for Spurs was the injury to defender Toby Alderweireld who came off with a hamstring injury in the 24th minute.
A football commentator claimed that last night’s game was far more memorable compared to Spur’s win during the match against Borussia Dortmund, which was the first match in Group H.
Previous to this game, Tottenham were never able to defeat Madrid in any competition, which only makes it much more memorable and historic for the English football team at the Champions League.
