TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Court judges sentenced Basuki Hariman, a beef importer, to seven years imprisonment last month. He was found guilty of bribing Constitutional Court Chief Justice Patrialis Akbar by deciding in favor of his lawsuit against the regulation on the freezing of the beef import quota. Financial records allegedly kept by Impexindo Pratama- a company owned by Basuki- revealed the names of many people who had received funds from that company. Those records were confiscated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during a search of Basuki Hariman's office last January.

In charges filed against Patrialis, investigators attempted to go over those records with Fenny Ng, General Manager of Impexindo Pratama. Many names had been written down in Fenny's handwriting, from police officers to Customs, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of State Bureaucratic Reform officials. She admitted to some, while for others she said she "doesn't know." A few pages of those transactions were missing, and the transactions dates were not in chronological order.
