TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - North Sumatra has interesting tourism potentials. Apart from the famous Lake Toba, there are also sightseeing areas with promising objects of recreation, entertainment, and religious tourism.

One of them is the Teroh-teroh Waterfall in Rumah Galuh Village at Sei Binge District, Langkat Regency. In Karo language, toreh means 'not high', and indeed, the waterfall is only five meters from the top.

Starting the journey from Medan, it's a three-hour drive through Binjai. Visitors arrive there greeted by posts offering guided tours to the waterfall. You can choose to go with or without a guide once paying for the entrance fee.

Before walking to the waterfall location, travelers are required to floats. There are two ways to reach the waterfall; by land and on foot, or through the river.

The climbing path is a bit of a challenge as it covers slightly steep paths. Taking the river route is more fun, because you will have to body-raft and get washed away by the river.

Before reaching fall, there is a pond called 'Kolam Abadi' or 'Eternal Pond', which the upstream part of the river. The pond captivates visitors by its crystal clear water surrounded by lush greeneries.

The final point of the trip down the river is the Teroh-teroh Falls. The long, tiresome walk is all washed away by the beautiful scenery and the splashes of refreshing fun from the waterfall.
