TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Hindu Youths Association (Peradah) has filed a police report against lawyer Eggi Sudjana. Peradah chairman Sures Kumar said that a video clip of the lawyer making remarks on the regulation in lieu of law No. 2/2017 on mass organizations (Perppu Ormas) on YouTube could spark public unrest.
The video shows Eggi made a statement that if the Constitution Court allows Perppu Ormas to be passed into law other religions other than Islam ought to be disbanded, Sures said. “He consciously made the statement and he said it twice,” he told Tempo in a phone interview today, Oct. 6.
Sures filed the police report yesterday. He also brought evidence, such as a video clip and online articles.
He said that Eggi Sudjana is not in a position to make the remarks in public and at a forum attended by prominent figures. Sures has filed the police report to prevent unwanted incidents. “At least there’s an effort to tackle the problem.”
