TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto denied that his party through The House of Representatives Inquiry Committee (Pansus Angket) proposed the suspension or disbandment of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

PDIP, Hasto said, wants to set the record straight on a statement released by their member on KPK temporary suspension.

"Political parties are in no position to propose suspension or disbandment. Recommendationsproposed by parties are still based on KPK’s duties to prevent and eradicate corruption," Hasto said on Saturday (9/9).

Hasto affirmed that since the beginning inquiry on KPK was carried out as the House’s monitoring mechanism to enhance KPK’s performance and to boost coordination among law enforcement institutions in order to improve the effectiveness of corruption eradication.
