TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Suciwati, the wife of human rights activist Munir will file for a judicial review on her husband`s murder. “We will file a judicial review on Munir case and report it to Ombudsman,” Suciwati said on the sidelines of the 505th Kamisan protest yesterday in front of the State Palace.

She will report the government to Ombudsman over the missing files of the fact-finding team on Munir case. Suciwati demanded that President Joko Widodo immediately resolve the murder case

The public, she said, continues to pressure the President to keeps his promise to investigate past human rights cases. “Don’t take too long. We have asked the President to keep his promises and not just hogwash.”

Suciwati is disappointed with the decision of the State Secretariat Ministry to file an appeal against the Central Information Commission (KIP) ruling that instructed the disclosure of the files of the fact-finding team on Munir’s murder. “It contradicts with what was said by the President.”

Suci said that the State Administrative Court overruled the KIP ruling in October 2016, declaring that the State Secretariat Ministry was neither in possession of nor obliged to disclose the fact finding team files.

Many believed that the files were missing during the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) administration. SBY, via former state secretary minister Sudi Silalahi, had handed over the copy of the files to the Joko Widodo administration.

The Commission for Victims of Violence and Missing Persons (Kontras) coordinator Yati Andriyani has called on President Joko Widodo to disclose files of the fact-finding team on Munir’s murder. She said that the revelation would prove the administration’s commitment to promoting an open government.
