Foreign Minister Retno to Meet Myanmar Officials Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will meet Myanmar officials in Naypiydaw today.
“I’m still in Yangon and preparing to head to Naypiydaw. I will meet for the first time with Myanmar’s military commander-in-chief [Min Aung Hlaing],” Foreign Minister Retno said in a video posted on Foreign Ministry Twitter account today.
Retno will discuss the security situation in Rakhine State before meeting State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi to convey some proposals.
“…Indonesia will extend proposals and call for, among others, the importance of protection of people who live in Rakhine,” she said.
The Foreign Minister will also hold a meeting with the National Security Advisor and ministers at the presidential palace to discuss the details of the proposals.
“Including on how Indonesia could provide humanitarian relief to Rakhine,” Foreign Minister Retno said.
