TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has made a comment of a bribery case implicating Transportation Ministry official Antonius Tonny Budiono.
“It's very disappointing and I’m warning officials to never do it again,” Jokowi told reporters yesterday in Monas.
Tonny was nabbed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday over bribery in dredging work of Tanjung Mas port, Semarang. He took bribes from PT Adhi Guna Keruktama commissioner Adiputra Kurniawan.
The state losses caused by the bribery is not yet known. The KPK has seized over 20 billion rupiah from Tonny. The money is believed to be related to other projects aside from that of Semarang.
Jokowi is visibly upset by the bribery case. He talked about it while showing his angry fist.
Jokowi warned state officials not to make the same mistake as Tonny. He also called on ministries to improve their monitoring system.
