TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 11th Archipelago Keraton Festival will be held in Cirebon City, West Java, on September 15-19. Some 43 keratons (royal palace) will be joining the event.

In addition, 71 keratons will become observers, said Cirebon Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Office head Dana Kartiman.

The Archipelago Keraton Festival will feature a wide range of art performances from various keratons, sacred objects, etc. “On September 16, 2017, a kirab [parade] of National Keraton soldiers will be held,” Dana said.

The parade will be started at Cirebon Kasepuhan Keraton and ended at the State Building on Jalan Krucuk, Cirebon City.

This year’s edition of the Archipelago Keraton Festival would present an opportunity for tourists to witness the country’s art and cultural performances since the event is not held annually.
