Research Ministry Set to Cut regulations to Boost Research

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Research, Technology, and Higher Education Minister Mohamad Nasir said his ministry is set to cut regulations that pose barriers to doing research.
"Regulations must adapt to developments or growth in innovations," he said on Saturday, August 19.
According to the Minister, regulations need to be streamlined to ensure development in innovation and industries in Indonesia.
Regarding to the agreement between Wika Industri & Konstruksi, Garansindo, and Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Surabaya, Nasir expressed hope that the existing agreement would also continue to realize the development of the industry and the marketing of products in the community.
He added the ministry was ready to support the realization of research results to be transformed into industrial products by slashing regulations deemed unfavorable. Nasir also said that the existing regulations should not hinder innovations.
