Indonesians Urged to Stay Alert Following Barcelona Terror Attack

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Madrid urged the Indonesian citizens in Barcelona, Spain, to remain alert following the terror attack in the Las Ramblas avenue.


A van plowed through a large group of people in the renowned tourist area of Ras Ramblas in the early evening of August 17, killing at least 13 people and injuring hundreds of others. The terrorist group ISIS claimed to be responsible for the attack.


The Indonesian citizens in Spain urged to bring complete identity documents whenever traveling outdoors and to call friends or embassy if need information.

Reports currently suggest that no Indonesian citizens were killed or injured as a result of the terrorist attack.
