TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - The Anti Narcotics Agency (BNN) has shot a drug dealer in Sidoarjo to death after arresting two other suspects in a break-in at a hotel in Surabaya.

"The drug dealer shot to death with the initial DBS (50) is a resident of Jalan Hangtuah, Sidoarjo, East Java. We had to gun him down because he tried to fight against the officers," East Java BNN Head Adj Comr. Sr. Wisnu Chandra said in Surabaya on Friday night, August 11.

East Java BNNP personnel had a tip-off that two suspects IRW (29) and MR (43), residents of Ulee Titi of Seunuddon District in Aceh, were to carry crystal methamphetamine to Sidoarjo by air through Juanda International Airport. The police later followed them from the airport to a hotel located at Jalan Diponegoro.

Their arrest led the police to DBS, who placed an order to the two suspects. The police set up a transaction with DBS and arrested him. Later, the police ordered him to show the place where he stored his stack of drugs. Once they arrived at the place, he tried to snatch the police’s gun and he was shot.

The police confiscated 1,000 kilograms of crystal meth from the two suspects and 445 kg from DBS. Wisnu stated that based on the package, the meth is from China. It is alleged that the meth had been sent from China, transported to Malaysia, entered Indonesia through Aceh, and transported to Medan before it was sent to East Java.

"We call these drug dealers as Aceh-Medan drug network,” Wisnu added.
