TEMPO.CO, Melbourne - Sea lice have allegedly fed on the feet of Australian teenager, Sam Kanizay (16 years), which has led to serious bleeding. The incident occurred when Sam was in Brighton Beach, Melbourne, Australia, Saturday night, August 5, 2017. Apparently, Sam was not the first Melbourne man to experience this incident.

A woman from Gold Coast, Australia, recalled how she was attacked by the same sea crustaceans three years ago.

Adele Shrimpton said after seeing Sam's story, she realizes the same tick may be to blame for the wounds he experienced during a trip to the local coast in 2014.

Shrimpton stood in shallow water on the Gold Coast in October 2014 when she felt the little creature attack his ankle, reported 9News.

She felt a stinging pain after pulling her legs out of the sand, and then she saw blood pouring from her ankle. "It was like a tiny pinhole everywhere on my leg ... there must have been about 300 bites," Shrimpton said.

"When I walked in the sand about 20 meters to tie my sandal strap, I looked down and noticed that blood was spreading all over my ankle, I do not know what to do, it was shocking and a bit strange to see.

At that time the experts could not identify what attacked Shrimpton, but after now seeing the same injuries that Sam suffered, she believed it was the same bugs.

While in August 2015, a father, Nick Murray, and his son, Will Murray, were bitten by a creature suspected to be sea lice while swimming in Sandringham Beach, southeast of Melbourne.

As reported by Bayside Leader, Nick’s legs were numb. He only saw his feet bleed when he came out of the sea water. The father and son held back the bites and the little creatures still stuck to their feet, even though they had cleaned up their blood.

"We stood still for 10 minutes. Maybe if we keep moving it will not happen, "Nick said.

Sam's father, Jarrod Kanizay, went to where his son was attacked last week and used raw meat as bait. The video shows that there are hundreds of small sea creatures that ate the bait.

Responding to the attack of the small lice that attacked Sam Kanizay, marine biologist Genefor Walker-Smith examined the sample of the creature. He says the little creature hurt Sam are not sea lice, but Amphipoda Lysianassid, a type of crustacean or so-called sea fleas.
