TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of homestays in the Dieng Plateau area, Central Java, have been booked by tourists who will attend the Dieng Culture Festival (DCF) on August 4-6, 2017.
"In fact, the homestays have been booked since a month ago. In the previous years, we hoped the renovated homes could also be turned into homestays," Awareness Group "Dieng Pandawa" chairman Alif Faozi in Banjarnegara said today.

Alif added tourists who have not managed to find a place to stay will be allowed to stay at residents’ regular houses. According to Alif, the number of homestays in the Dieng Plateau is about 700-800 units.
Arif revealed that the homestay tariff will be decided based on an agreement made between the homestay manager and the tourist. The tariff increased by Rp50.000-Rp100.000 based on the facilities being provided.

The increase in the tariff was decided since the owner of the house, especially in Dieng Kulon Village, took part in the funding of one of the events held on the first day of DCF 2017.
In this case, Alif said, nearly 80 percent of the cost for the event, called "Kongkow Budaya", is funded by homestay owners.
In response to a question related to the phreatic eruption of the Sileri Crater took place on July, 2, Alif admitted that the incident could have an impact on the amount of tourists visiting Dieng and possibly cause cancellations.
