Police Will Not Follow - Up Report on Kaesang Pangarep

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police will not follow - up the irrational police report made by Muhamad Hidayat against the youngest son of President Jokowi, Kaesang Pangarep. Police Deputy Chief Comr. Gen. Syafruddin revealed the statement.
“The police report is nonsense and we’ll definitely not to follow-up on that,” said Syafruddin on Thursday, July 6.

According to the copy of the police report filed under LP/1049/K/VI/2017/ at Bekasi Metro Police, Kaesang Pangarep is accused of spreading hate speech through a video blog he uploaded on YouTube.
The sentence highlighted by Muhamad Hidayat, the one who files a police report against Kaesang, was ‘inciting conflicts and accusing people of being infidels’, ‘refusing to conduct prayers for Muslim brothers just because of differing voting preference’, ’what is that? Ndeso!’
Ndeso is an Indonesian slang word often used a joke which can be translated into 'tacky'.

The police deputy chief questioned the word 'Ndeso' highlighted by Muhamad Hidayat. “About the word ndeso, I’ve been hearing the joke (the word ndeso) used since I was a little child. We're just being rational,” said Syafruddin.
He explained that police have standards in following-up a police report.
Syafruddin emphasized that his institution would follow-up a police report that contains criminal elements. He also added that police have more important work to do whenever an irrational report comes into their doors.
Kaesang Pangarep was reported by a Muhamad Hidayat, 52 years old, for allegedly conducting blasphemy and spreading hate speech.
