Jokowi to Celebrate Eid in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Unlike in previous years, this year Jokowi will be in Jakarta to celebrate Eid Day and the President is also expected to hold an Eid Open House. The information received from Presidential Spokesperson Johan Budi Sapto Pribowo.
"President Jokowi will also hold an open house,” Budi said through an e-mail on Saturday, June 24.

Based on the information received by Tempo, President Joko Widodo will perform Eid prayer at Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta at 7 pm. Afterward, he will have a halal bihalal (gathering) with Vice Jusuf Kalla before holding an open house at the Presidential Palace at 9 am.
It is scheduled that the open house will be attended by a number of ministers, high-ranking state officials, heads of government institutions, ambassadors of friendly countries and the general public.
The open house will be centered at State Palace, located behind the Merdeka Palace.
For the record, since Jokowi took office, this year is the first time he celebrates Eid Day in Jakarta. In 2015, Jokowi celebrated Eid Day in Banda Aceh, while in 2016, the President celebrated Eid Day in Padang, West Sumatera.
