TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to question former House of Representatives (DPR) Deputy Speaker Priyo Santoso regarding the corruption of the 2011-2012 budget and or procurement management at the Religious Affairs Ministry.
“[Priyo Santoso] is questioned as a witness for the suspect Fahd El Fouz,” said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah on Wednesday, May 10.
Other than Priyo, KPK is also scheduled to question two other witnesses who are also former DPR members Nurul Iman Mustofa and Dewi Coryati.
Previously, KPK arrested Golkar party member Fahd El Fouz as a suspect of the Al-Quran budgeting and procurement corruption.
“We arrested Fahd El Fouz for an alleged bribe in two projects that were handled by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. He will be detained for the next 20 days in our detention center branch in South Jakarta,” Febri Diansyah said.
On Thursday, April 27, KPK announced Fahd as the third suspect in the corruption case involving the Al-Quran budgeting and procurement for the 2011 revised stated budget and the 2012 state budget. It also involves the computer lab procurement for Islamic Junior High Schools (MTs) of the academic year 2011 at the Religious Affairs Ministry.
