Jokowi Meets KPK Leaders

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) today met with four leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the State Palace.
“The KPK chief had requested [the meeting]; I apologize that it has only been held now,” Jokowi said in his opening speech at the meeting.
The KPK chief Agus Rahardjo attended the meeting alongside other leaders Alexander Marwata, Saut Situmorang and Basaria Panjaitan.
Jokowi was accompanied by State Secretariat Minister Pratikno and Presidential spokesman Johan Budi SP.
President Jokowi said that the government will fully support the KPK in ensuring clean governance. He added that the government will continue to adopt good governance in favor of the people.
“A government that can swiftly serve the people, free of corruption and globally competitive,” Jokowi said.
The meeting at the Merdeka Palace was started at 10:30 a.m. Media crews were not allowed to cover the private meeting.
