TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party Chairman, Setya Novanto, hoped that Jakarta governor candidate pair Ahok-Djarot would receive support from the opposing party coalition previously supported Agus-Sylvi.

"We hope that the supporters who voted for Agus would vote for Ahok [in the election runoff]," Setya said on Thursday, February 16, 2017.

According to Setya, there has to be a continuous approach to achieve the goal. Nevertheless, Setya said that he will leave the final decision to the coalition that consist of the Democratic Party, National Awakening Party (PKB), National mandate Party (PAN), and United Development Party (PPP).

Ahok-Djarot, who is currently being supprted by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Golkar, NasDem, and the People's Conscience Party (Hanura), won the first round of the Jakarts gubernatorial election according to a number of the unofficial quick count results.

Setya, despite his gratitude in welcoming the victory, warned supporters to be ready to face the second round. "Party endorsers will maximize their efforts," Setya said.
