TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Cikopo Palimanan toll road in West Java saw yet another deadly accident.


This time, at least seven people were killed in a deadly accident that happened early on Sunday (15/1). The accident involved a Daihatsu Luxio car and a truck.


"Due to the accident, 7 people were killed and three are severely injured,” said spokesperson of the West Java regional police Comr. Sr. Yusri Yunus to reporters on Sunday.


Yusri added the accident took place on Lane 161 A from Cikopo to Palimanan.


He added the accident began when the Luxio car, with the plate number of B 1138 UKS, was moving from Cikopo to Palimanan and suddenly lost control, allegedly because the driver was sleepy. Consequently, it hit the back part of the truck that was in front of the car.


The victims have been evacuated to Arjawinangun hospital in Cirebon regency, Yusri said.


"We will announce the identities of the victims later on,” he added.
