TEMPO.CO, Semarang - The Central Java branch of the Great Indonesia Movement Party’s (Gerindra) Executive Board declared their readiness to help Gerindra chairman Prabowo Subianto winning the 2019 Presidential Election.

“We continue making moves to strengthen the party,” Sriyanto Saputro, deputy chairman of the Central Java branch of Gerindra Executive Board said on Thursday, January 12, 2017.

Sriyanto added that Gerindra had crafted several programs to grease Prabowo’s way to the presidential chair in 2019. However, Siryanto refused to provide details about the plans.

“Some of them are silent operations that we can’t announce it publicly,” Sriyanto said.

Sriyanto expressed optimism that Prabowo would win the next presidential election.

“He [Prabowo] is a real statesman admired by people,” Sriyanto claimed.

According to Sriyanto, people are more aware that it takes a strong figure to manage a country as huge as Indonesia, particularly to anticipate foreign threats and to maintain and protect the dignity of the state.

Sriyanto claimed that Gerindra’s structure had been more well-organized and solid. Although Prabowo’s political rivals are not clear yet, Gerindra continues to reinforce its cadres across the country.

Earlier, Gerindra deputy chairman Fadli Zon said that his party could endorse Prabowo Subianto to run in the next presidential election. Fadli claimed that the majority of Gerindra’s cadres wanted Prabowo to fight his way to the presidential chair in 2019.

Gerindra’s endorsement for Prabowo has not been officially decided yet. However, Fadli revealed that it could be announced anytime or during the party’s anniversary celebration on February 6, 2017.
