TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Minister of State-owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno hopes that micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) players can patent their main products in order to compete with products from other countries and the concepts will not be stolen by business players abroad.
"New products need to be patented. We don’t want that once the products are sold abroad, their concept are stolen,” Rini said on Saturday.
In addition, Rini said that UMKM products should not only consider the content but also the packages.
"Our products are actually very good but the problem is with the packaging,” she added.
The Minister added that if the products are well packaged, consumers will be more interested to buy them.
