Minister Checks 2 Locations Ahead of Christmas, New Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi plans to inspect a number or locations ahead of Christmas and New Year. He plans to visit Karang Tengah toll road and Merak Harbor.


At the Karang Tengah toll road, Budi Karya plans to hear the explanation on the anticipation ahead of the two major holidays from the Head of the Toll Road Management Agency and the General Director of Land Transportation.


The Minister will then go to Merak Harbor where he will meet the President Director of PT ASDP to hear their readiness ahead of Christmas and New Year. He will also check on the harbor himself.


In the joint meeting with the House of Representative’s Transportation Commission, Minister Budi had already explained the year-end's preparations. He explained that there are 44,871 buses available as land transportation as well as 45 bus terminals.


As for water transportation, Budi revealed that there are 181 Ro-Ro ships available. As many as 442 train locomotives also ready for operations.


There are 1,547 trains are operational, as well as 1,112 ships and 52 harbors. Meanwhile, as many as 498 airplanes are ready for air transportation and 35 airports ready to support the Christmas and New Year holidays.
