213 Floods, 273 Landslides Reported in East Java This Year: BPBD

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Head of East Java Disaster Mitigation Sudarmawan said that in 2016, at least 213 floods and 273 landslides were reported in the province.
According to Sudarmawan, there is an increase in the number of disasters that hit the province compared to the previous years.
"Areas affected by the disasters are located along two rivers in East Java, Bengawan Solo river and Brantas river,” he said on Saturday.
Sudarmawan added that 50 floods were reported along Bengawan Solo river, while 97 floods were reported along Brantas river.
