TEMPO.CO, Deli Serdang - M. Fitrah, 28, a passenger of Lion Air JT970 aircraft, arrested on Monday morning, Nov. 21, by Security Check Point (SCP) I personnel of Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

Brach Communication & Legal Manager of Kualanamu Airport Wisnu Budi Setianto explained that Fitrah is a resident of Labota Village in Morowali District, Central Sulawesi.

According to Wisnu, the arrest started when security personnel suspected Fitrah’s behavior when he entered the departure terminal through Security Check Point 1.

During passenger profiling, security personnel spotted Fitra’s unusual behavior. They later conducted a body search on Fitra. “We found two plastic bags containing crystal meth weighing 952 grams under his crotch,” Wisnu told Tempo on Monday, November 21, 2016.

Wisnu said that Fitrah confessed that he would take the crystal meth to Surabaya. He claimed that he was only a drug courier and got paid Rp30 million. Having been questioned by Kualanamu Airport security personnel, Fitrah has been handed over to Deli Serdang Police Precinct for further questioning.
