Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road Construction Begins in 2017

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Toll Road Management Agency (BPJT) Herry TZ said that the auction of the Jakarta-Cikampek II elevated toll road project has been won by a consortium led by state-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga.
Herry said that afterwards, the consortium would only have to sign a contract to resume the project. Herry also hopes that the construction of the elevated toll road will begin in early 2017.
"It will be constructed soon. Early next year if possible,” Erry said in Jakarta on Friday.
The project was proposed by Jasa Marga to the government in order to increase the capacity of the Jakarta – Cikampek toll road.
It is planned that the toll road will be built over the existing Jakarta – Cikampel toll road. The new toll road, which stretches from Cikunir to Karawang Barat is expected to be in operation in 2019, while the concession period of the toll road is for 40 years.
