TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Residents of Numfor Archipelago, Papua, will soon enjoy 24-hours electricity provided by two 700 Kilowatts generators from the Papuan Provincial Government.
Semual Parwas, Assistent Manager of the State-Electricity Company's (PLN) Generator for Biak Area said that the Numfor residents will be able to enjoy full day electricity after the construction of a large capacity fuel tank, which can store up to 60-tons of fuel, enough to run the generator for one month.
"The generators, which was provided by Governor Lukas Enembe through the Papua Mining and Energy Agency is the answer for Numfor residents' demand for 24-hours electricity," Semual said on Wednesday, November 2, 2016.
Semual added that currently, people in Numfor can only enjoy electricity for 12-hours provided by the Biak PLN.
"The Biak Area PLN had high hoped that 24-hours electricity in the Numfor Archipelago can be achieved in 2016. This is the target of Biak Area PLN," Semual said.
Semual expressed his optimism that the 24-hours electricity services will help Numfor to improve its local government activity, development, and public services.
