TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta City government has assigned three BUMDs, specifically in food sector to maintain price stability. By so, the city inflation can be maintained stably.

Basuki Tjahaja Purnama disclosed, at this time, the function of three BUMDs runs well. They are PD Pasar Jaya, PT Tjipinang Food Station and PD Dharma Jaya. City inflation rate can be below national rate.

"Our inflation is always below national rate. Logically, if the economic growth is high, it will be followed by high inflation. But our economic is above national, because distribution goes well," he stated, at City Hall, Wednesday (10/5).

He is also developing a wholesale center in Kramat Jati Market. The goal is to cut food distribution to the public. Thus food price can be cheaper.

"If it was inaugurated in February 2017, it will bring a better distribution," he expressed.

Basuki added such way also influences on Jakarta UMP. Because its calculation uses the basic cost of living (KHL), where the rate is not too high because of subsidies from various fields

"So don’t be surprised, Jakarta UMP can be cheaper than Bekasi, because we use the KHL survey. For example, transport is subsidized, likewise with the flat towers. It affects the KHL," he finished.
