Jakarta Election Candidate Pairs Undergo Medical Check-up

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two candidate pairs in the upcoming Jakarta Governor election Jakarta on Saturday morning (24/9) visited Mintohardjo navy hospital in Central Jakarta for a medical check-up.


They are incumbent pair Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama Djarot Saiful Hidayat and a pair from Cikeas Coalition, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni. Candidate pair Anies Baswedan dan Sandiaga Uno were not seen yet at the hospital.


A number of reporters were already waiting near the information desk of the hospital, while several Navy personnel secure the area with a separating cord near the desk.


Reporters were not allowed to cross the separation.


At around 8:22 am, pair Agus-Sylviana came out of the lift located next to the desk. Both made time for photo session near the separator and waved their hands and smiled.


"Thank you, thank you,” Agu said, while waving at the reporters.


Agus and Sylviana then turned back, heading to the glass door behind them. It was not known yet a series of medical tests they have undergone and of posting the pair is still undergoing the medical check up.


It is planned that after the check up, the hospital along with the pairs will hold a joint press conference.
