TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, in collaboration with the government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, has planned to complete the development of 285 houses in Atambua, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The houses are built with the application of the Healthy and Simple Instant House (Risha) technology.

Arvi Argyantoro, head of the research and development center for building structures and environment at the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, said that the technology was crafted at the Research and Development Center for Housing (Puslitbangperkim).

“The Risha technology has met the eco house criteria,” he said in a press release on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.

Arvi explained that the Risha technology features the knocked down system for all house components. He said that the Risha technology would allow houses to be built in stages and to be expanded.

“The installation only takes a day,” Arvi added.

In addition, he claimed that the house components could be produced by home industries and small and medium enterprises. The design was highly flexible and allow creativity for architects, he added.

Arvi said that an environmentally friendly building must meet several criteria, including energy efficiency during its development and after the completion. According to him, the Ministry was in the process of developing and crafting technologies related to energy efficiency.
