TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil or Emil will build some new sports arena that will soon complete the sports complex that is located right next to Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) stadium.

“We are planning to build sports facilities such as athletic and tennis court, as well as aquatic center,” Ridwan Kamil said in Bandung, Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

As for Aquatic Center that covers 3 hectares, it will be made with special technology. “It will be multifunctional. Can be used for ballroom as well as swimming. This is a new way, a new technology,” he said.

However, the construction of Aquatic Centre is still on hold due to the budget issue since it is predicted to be very expensive. Therefore, Emil plans to collaborate with private sector companies in terms of the development and construction process using the Public Private Partnership working system.

Inside the work collaboration plans, the Bandung government will settle the funding of Aquatic Center with installments that have been agreed by both parties.

“We hope that our proposal on the development of Aquatic Center will be done within the next four weeks. When we have the proposal, we will find investors immediately,” he said.
