TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of Ahok gubernatorial campaign staff, Nusron Wahid, is confident that the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) will join Golkar, NasDem, and Hanura parties to support Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) to be the candidate of the 2017 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election.

"PDIP will surely support Ahok," said the Golkar politician at the Polemic discussion event taht was held in Cikini, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, July 30, 2016.

Nusron is very confident of it because he saw that the condition is very similar with when Joko Widodo was running for candidacy in the presidency campaign back in 2014. He claimed that he knew PDIP chairwoman Megawati well enough; he is sure that Megawati is now counting the good days to announced the party`s support for Ahok. "Ngitung nogo dino (Counting the good days), for a Javanese, means good days. Bu Mega is calculating the good days indeed," he stated.

Nusron said that by revealing his expectation, it is a form of prayer and hope. He said that he is really grateful if PDIP has officially declares its support for Ahok. According to him, there is already a proof that the people wanted Ahok to take the step forward again to be the Jakarta governor, namely the accumulation of one million ID cards. "Ahok was able to prove his stance," he uttered.

Masinton Pasaribu, a politician from PDIP, said that his party has not yet decide who will be the person that they will back up as the candidate of the new Jakarta governor. Masinton claimed that there are already six names kept inside Megawati`s pocket. However, he said that PDIP does not want to decide it in a hurry because they also have to consider the people who do not want Ahok to be the governor again.

Masinton then responded Nusron`a statement with a bit of humour. "Nusron said that he is hoping to be supported by PDIP, well then, his expectation is the just the same with Ahok," he stated, followed by laughters of the discussion participants.
