TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat has on the public to support the trial of the odd-even registration plate policy on a number of thoroughfares in the capital.

Djarot expressed his optimism that the policy will be able to reduce the number of vehicles and traffic jams on Jakarta streets.

"Don't be pessimistic. It has yet to be tried, so don't be pessimistic. The most important thing is to do trial first. We will know the results later, and then we will do an evaluation," Djarot said.
