TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said the tax amnesty program will be evaluated in a month’s time. “We’ll wait for a month before doing an evaluation,” he said at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs building, Jakarta, Monday, July 25, 2016.

Darmin said that he would not be able to evaluate tax amnesty program one week after its implementation because the time is too short. He said that he might get it evaluated in two month’s time. “Even two months would not be enough.”

Earlier, Deputy Finance Minister Mardiasmo said the tax amnesty program had yielded over Rp400 billion from asset declaration as of the fourth day of its implementation. Whereas the ministry has received over Rp6 billion from redemption payment in that period.

Finance Ministry Bambang Brodjonegoro has yet to say much about the funds from the tax amnesty program. “We have received a lot in the first week. I will tell you later,” he said.

Tax amnesty program has been effective since July 18, 2016. Taxpayers who have yet to report their assets, can participate in the program until March 2017.
