Indonesians in Jeddah Urge Gov't to Build School

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Abdullah M. Umar, Chairman of Committee for Indonesian School in Jeddah (SIJ) said that Indonesian citizens residing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, have urged the Indonesian government to build a school in the city, as quoted by Antaranews on Monday, July 25, 2016.
Abdullah expressed his concern that Indonesian citizens in Jeddah will have limited access to education. Abdullah asserted that Indonesian School in Jeddah should ideally has 50 classes to accommodate more than 1,400 students.
"I'm affraid that children who cannot be accommodated could drop out of school," Abdullah said.
Abdullah also explained that the building currently rented by the SIJ only have 23 classes. On the other hand, SIJ currently has 44 learning groups with 1,400 students consisting of elementary and high school level.
