TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Erik Sugada, chairman of the Bogor branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the business community in Bogor showed little enthusiasm over the recently launched tax amnesty program.

Erik revealed that his institution was just contacted by the West Java branch of the Taxation Directorate General to disseminate the program.

“In my opinion, business owners in Bogor will not be enthusiastic about the tax amnesty program. Many of them don’t really understand [about the program],” Erik told Bisnis.com on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Eric called on the government to intensively disseminate the tax amnesty program, because many business owners were not keeping up with the development. However, Erik viewed that the program would have positive impacts on the country’s economic growth.

According to Erik, not many business owners in Bogor keep their assets overseas.

“Most of them invest their money in the domestic property sector,” he added.

Erik said that he positively welcomed the offer to disseminate the tax amnesty program. Erik revealed that his institution would hold a meeting with the Taxation Directorate General soon.
