TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the General Election Commission (KPU) Husni Kamil Manik passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Pertamina Central Hospital, South Jakarta. Deputy Chief of the KPU confirmed the news.


"Yes it is true," Ferry said.


Ferry claimed to hear news about Husni from one of his colleagues Hadar Nafis GUmay. Ferry said that he was initially informed that Husni was administered to the hospital on Thursday morning. However, Ferry had no information on Husni's disease.


Husni Kamil Malik was elected as the Chief of KPU on April 12, 2012. Previously, he was a member of the West Sumatera KPU. Back in 1999, Husni started his career by joining as an election supervisor.
