TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Financial Services Authority (OJK) launched the Integrated Electronic Registration and Licensing System (Sistem Elektronik Perizinan dan Registrasi Terintegrasi/SPRINT) for the capital market today, May 31, 2016. The system has three functions in the capital market; as a licensing tool, to help with license registration, and reporting.
"The system will allow faster and easier licensing process," M. Noor Rachman, OJK deputy commissioner for capital market supervision, said in his speech during SPRINT's launching ceremony.
Noor said the system will increase the efficiency of licensing services, boost working effectiveness, and raise the number of license holders as well as capital market instruments.
An e-licensing system, he added, will also improve information openness for industry players who are filing for registrations and licenses.
"We uphold public disclosure, that's why this system is very transparent, measurable, and accountable," he said.
The SPRINT is currently on a trial period of three to six months, during which it will run the soft copy and hard copy methods simultaneously.
After the trial run is over, the OJK will direct all capital marketing licenses to be processed electronically, migrating from the printing system to an e-system. "Ten documents will be just five documents in just a few clicks," he said.
