TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama called on neighborhood unit (RT) and community unit (RW) heads to report issues and findings related to resident via a mobile application called Qlue.
“You have a responsibility to take care of your neighborhood. If you want to do that you must report to us,” Ahok said at the City Hall on Thursday, May 26, 2016.
Ahok said that RT and RW heads have been provided with an incentive up to Rp 800,000 (US$60) per month. According to Ahok, requiring RT and RW heads to submit reports via Qlue is a reasonable decision.
Ahok alleged that RT and RW heads who refused to use Qlue were those who abuse their authority and involved in illegal land selling. However, Ahok asserted that any administrative affairs could be settled directly at one-stop integrated services (PTSP), instead of through RT and RW heads.
Ahok revealed that each report submitted via Qlue would be rewarded with Rp 10,000 (US$75 cents). Ahok called on RT and RW heads who refused to use the mobile application to resign from their posts.
Earlier, the Jakarta administration launched mobile app Qlue to accommodate all complaints and requests from Jakarta residents.
