Gov`t to Continue Revitalizing Traditional Markets

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Trade Minister Thomas Lembong will continue the commitment to maintain the competitiveness of traditional market through revitalization.
However, he said that the revitalization should not only be limited to improvement of physical building or building physical buildings.
"Innovation of the management system must also be improved. Socio-cultural condition of the markets must also be maintained,” the Minister said on Sunday (1/5).
In addition to maintain the competitiveness of traditional markets, Thomas said revitalization of traditional markets are also aimed improving people’s welfare.
"Revitalization of traditional markets are very useful to increase incomes of traders in traditional markets, most of whom are micro, small and medium enterprises,” he added.
