TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya said that the environmental impact analysis (AMDAL) for the Jakarta Bay reclamation islands must be carried out as a whole instead of individual islands.

"It is not enough to conduct AMDAL for each island individually because [the reclamation project] affects many things," Siti said after meeting with Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Tuesday, April 19, 2016.

Siti explained that the reclamation project must also pay attention to the Environmental Strategic Studies (KLHS) in order to provide better provisions for the spatial plan regulation draft, which will serve as a legal framework for the reclamation project.

In addition, Siti said that the KLHS will be included as part of the Jakarta regional government regulation draft that will be proposed to the Regional Representatives Council.
