TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bandung City government plans to prioritize the renovation and rearrangement of the city's two largest park - the Tegalega Conservation Park and the Babakan Siliwangi city forest - in its 2016 work agenda. The renovation is said to incorporate new features and designs.

For the Tegalega condervation park, the Bandung Landscaping and Cemetery Agency will replace the park's paving blocks with granite slabs. "We will also remove the fences. We plan to remove [the entire park's] fences, but for 2016, we will only remove the fences facing Jalan Peta," said Dadang Dharmawan, Chief of Landscaping at the Agency on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

The agency will also construct a museum of preserved animals. In addition to the museum, an amphitheater will be constructed to accommodate art performances. Furthermore, the agency will build ponds in the park.

Meanwhile, for the Babakan Siliwangi city forest, the agency will construct a 2.6-wide skywalk with a two kilometer radius circling the city forest. "The skywalk will be made out of wood," Dadang said.

In addition to the skywalk, the agency will also renovate eight houses Baduy traditional houses within the forest’s premises often utilized to host art exhibition. The most exceptional plan would be the agency’s idea to build a 30 square-meters wide temple in the city forest. "The temple will protect the Babakan Siliwangi city forest's spring," Dadang said.
