TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A-hundred-and-forty-seven foreign tourists visited the traditional house of Kaili Banua Oge Tribe or "Sou Raja" at Lere Urban Village, Palu, at the peak of 2016 total solar eclipse on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. On the same occasion, tourists were also presented with a cultural carnival held under the Palu IV Bridge.

A tourist from Los Angeles, Jason, admitted that he was really honored by the cultural performance. In addition to its friendly residents, Palu also has beautiful scenery, according to Jason.

"Actually, I want to stay in the city longer, but we have other schedule. I like being here, the panorama is beautiful and the people are nice and friendly," Jason said.

Another tourist, Stefany from Germany, said that Palu is beautiful because it is surrounded by green hills and an open view of the sea.

"It's very dazzling, I love [being] here. After this, I will come again to Palu even if there is no [solar eclipse]," said the women who works at a travel bureau in Germany.

Herlina, Head of Palu Cultural-Based Creative Economy Division of Tourism and Creative Economy Department (Perkeraf) said that at least 100 people had taken part in cultural carnival.

"Participants of the carnival had been preparing for two months before the event. The costumes being used had been made since half a year ago and [we have spent] tens of millions [of rupiahs], but there were also [participants] who prepared [the costumes] themselves," Herlina said.
