TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bandung Mayor, Ridwan Kamil, intends to make Bandung as a smart city similar to Singapore. To catch-up with Singapore level, Ridwan Kamil must create smartphone applications in his remaining 3-year tenure.

“I’m targetting to catch-up with Singapore. It’s an example of a city with international standard of services,” said Ridwan Kami at Bandung City Hall, Thursday, January 4, 2016.

However, it would take time to catch-up with Singapore in online-based public services. The reason is that Singapore has already had 1,600 types of application from trivial ones to more important ones.

“Bandung smart city program is targetting to have 1,000 applications; it’s a target in my tenure,” he said.

Currently, Bandung Government has around 300 types of application, Ridwan Kamil added. Most of the applications are used for the government’s internal services.

“We will create the apps to fulfill our needs in a more efficient way,” he said.

In the near future, Ridwan Kamil said the he would launch two new applications. “In the near future, we might launch two applications to address queueing and motorbike taxi (ojek) issues,"
