TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Editor in Chief of The Jakarta Post, Meidyatama Suryodiningrat, is appointed as the new President Director of Antara News Agency.

Fajar Harry Sampurno, from the Media Division of the SOE Ministry, said that Meidyatama replaced Syaiful Hadi. "Dimas (Meidyatama) has been appointed as the new President Director of Antara. We’ve held the ceremony this morning," said Harry on Friday, January 22, 2016.

Harry expects that Dimas can bring a second wind to Antara in a bid to realize the National Publishing and News Corporation (NPNC).

Previously, Dimas has been the Editor in Chief of The Jakarta Post for six years. On December 2015, President Joko Widodo summoned him to help improving Antara's performance.

Dimas appointed as the new director of Antara based on decree of SOE Minister Rini M. Soemarno No. SK-13/MBU/01/2016 in 22 of January 2016 on Dismissal and Appointment of Antara Management.
