Foreign Net Sell at Rp18.28tn as JCI Closes with 1.53% Gain

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign investors recorded another net sell on today's trade, November 3. The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) today closed with a foreign net sell of Rp170.22 billion, making a total of Rp18.28 trillion for this year so far.
Today's trade saw foreign investors selling 639.35 million shares worth Rp2.3 trillion and buying 598.56 million shares for a value of Rp2.13 trillion.
Meanwhile, domestic investors purchased 3.63 billion shares worth Rp3.36 trillion and sold Rp3.19 trillion worth of 3.58 billion units of shares.
The bourse closed the day with a total trading value of Rp5.5 trillion from transacting 4.22 billion units of shares.
Despite the foreign sales, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) managed to close with a 1.53 percent gain—the highest in the Asia Pacific region—to 4533.09. But on a year-to-date basis, the index is still corrected by 13.27 percent.
Today's strongest sector was basic chemistries, posting a gain of 3.44 percent. Eight out of nine sectors posted gains, except for the trading, services and investment sector, which experienced a 0.1 percent correction.
Of the 520 stocks traded today, 169 gained while 95 experienced price declines. The remaining 256 were flat.
