TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama lead the 70th Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) Anniversary at the Regional Military Command Jakarta Headquarter, Monday, October 5.

In his speech, which is also a mandate from President Jokowi, he wishes TNI a happy anniversary. “This remark is specifically addressed to TNI personnels on duty in borders, abroad and remote areas who protects state sovereignty,” Ahok said Monday.

Ahok also expressed his gratitute towards TNI Anniversary dubbed: “bersama rakyat TNI kuat (together with the people TNI is strong). “History records that TNI came from the people,” said Ahok.

The ceremony began 9 am with Ahok inspecting the participants of the ceremony by using an open vehicle. Although named inspector ceremony in a military event, Ahok dresses in his official white uniform.

Besides participated by Regional Military Commander Major General Teddy Lhaksmana, Metro Jaya Police Department Chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian was also invited as guest. Several regional head apparatus also attended the ceremony including Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency Head Heru Budi Hartono.
