TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State Secretariat has decided to scale down the size of entourage for President Joko Widodo`s overseas trips.

Under the policy, the number of members of advance team and presidential delegations will be cut, Minister/State Secretary Pratikno told reporters at the Presidential Office on Tuesday.

"We will halve members of advance teams," he said as quoted by the State Secretariat in its website.

He made it clear that the size of presidential entourage is based on the aim of the overseas trips and the functions of personnel in the trips.

Commenting on President Joko Widodo`s plan to visit several Middle Eastern countries in the near future, the minister/state secretary said the visit will put more emphasis on economic mission and bilateral meetings.

Therefore, he added the ministers who will accompany the President will be those dealing with the economic sector.
